Raising awareness about drug safety
Year 10 students watched the play 'I love you, Mum, I promise I won't die', commissioned by the Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation.
Today, Year 10 students watched a amazing performance of the play 'I love you, Mum, I promise I won't die' by playwright Mark Wheeller and performed by Wizard Theatre. It was commissioned by the Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation to raise awareness about drug safety and to help young people to make safe choices.
The play tells the story of the Croydon teenager, Daniel Spargo-Mabbs, who died in 2014 aged just 16. Daniel had taken a lethal amount of MDMA at a rave in Hillingdon.
After the performance, students participated in an interactive drama workshop, which focused on informed decision making and risk awareness.
Wizard Theatre are returning next week to perform for the rest of Year 10.
