Students explore Christmas market in Lille

On Friday 13th December, 30 of our GCSE French students got up really early to catch the Eurostar to Lille to visit the famous Christmas market.

Students had the opportunity to visit a traditional French Christmas market, the oldest bakery in Lille and the biggest bookshop in Europe, as well as a UNESCO site.

Although it was freezing cold and an exceptionally long day, all students were engaged and had a great time.

I heard a lot of French being spoken and tales of when students had used their French to get by. They really enjoyed exploring the town and, of course, the shopping!
