World Autism Week 2023
27th March to 2nd April 2023.
For World Autism Week, some of our autistic students have volunteered their time to create some wonderful work about their experience. Learning through the autistic lens is the most powerful tool – it enables us to learn through the lived experience of others. Please check out their amazing work here.
Students and families can also check out Frog this week for more information about autism. Here are some other useful videos:
- Let's Learn About Autism - Autism Acceptance Week Video for Secondary Schools (vimeo.com)
- Young people explain meltdowns | Ambitious about Autism - YouTube
We highly recommend watching these to learn more about the lived experience:

The environment is a key factor to the outcome of autistic students – we can make a difference… if we learn through the autistic lens then we will have a better understanding of what we can do to support our students in becoming the best version of themselves that they can be.
You can check out what is on offer in the local community here: https://www.cognus.org.uk/services-for-professionals/autism-and-social-communication/autism-week/…and book your event here: https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/sutton-autism-week-186111.
We are proud to have a school community that welcomes and celebrates neurodiversity and difference, not just for one week, but every single day!
