Greenshaw’s Class of 2015 celebrates in style

Our Year 11 students looked fabulous for their prom on Friday.

Friday 28th June was an important date for our Year 11 students, as it heralded their official graduation from Greenshaw High School.

They arrived in style, dressed up for the 2015 Prom. The girls looked amazing in an array of dresses (and were considerably taller in their heels) and the boys were very smart in their suits and smart shoes. We even had one student dressed as the Cookie Monster who arrived on the back of a motorbike!

Headteacher, Mr House, and Head of Year 11, Mr Kidd, spoke to the students, congratulating them on their years at Greenshaw. The audience then enjoyed seeing the students go up on stage to receive their yearbooks. Each Head of House gave a speech, recounting fond and funny memories and the audience enjoyed a video presentation which contained many images and footage from across their years at the school. The highlight of the evening was the party – complete with a chocolate fountain, a fantastic party tree, a photo booth and a disco in the school hall for students, whilst parents enjoyed light refreshments in the Sixth Form Centre.

Mr House said: “It was wonderful to see the students having such a fantastic evening and looking fabulous. They have worked tremendously hard completing their coursework and revising for exams. We are sure that they will reap the rewards when the GCSE results are published in August. We wish them all the very best of luck for the future and look forward to seeing many of them returning into the Greenshaw Sixth Form in September.”

Mr Kidd added: “It has been a great pleasure for me as your Raising Standards Leader to see your level of application and commitment to learning over the past two years. I am sure this wil be rewarded with fantastic results in August. Your first five years at Greenshaw will be a springboard to bigger and better things in the next stage of your education, whether that is in the Greenshaw sixth form or elsewhere, and beyond. Whatever your chosen path, I wish you all good luck.”
